The view west from the summit of
Cuyamaca Peak (6,512'), in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, was a bit
hazy today. A HPS trip was set to be led here, but it was canceled.
A friendly associate from the Angeles Chapter peak sections ran
into us at the summit. He needed the peak, so made his own solo
hike. Despite the State Wilderness
designation, the park is well signed, and hiker-friendly. We had
run into a patch of snow enroute to the top. Due
to a recent, bad fire, though, most of what is in this picture
no longer exists, as it did. Photos taken March 8, 1997 by Petesthousandpeaks.
