The rock forming the highest point
of what I used to call, "North Point," may be a fine
example of what is known as "fulgarite." Resulting from
lightning strikes, the rock becomes crystallized, and forms the
white paint-like substance. This point is at the north end of
Blue Ridge, just off the trail before it leaves the ridge headed
back north to Cache Creek. Photo taken December 27, 2000, by Petesthousandpeaks.
