The view northward from the Red Slate Mountain (13,163') summit. The lower, reddish-brown, peaks are, from left to right, Bloody Mountain (12,544'), Laurel Mountain (11,812'), and Mt. Morrison (12,268'), then Mt. Baldwin (12,614'). Mono Lake, Crowley Lake, and part of the White Mountain Range are seen in the distance.

 

The view westward from the summit of Red Slate Mountain encompasses much of the northern part of the John Muir Wilderness. Cecil Lake and Lee Lake are seen below, with the Silver Divide in the distance.
